I found both motorcycles comfortable, but the KTM 1190 Adventure’s ergonomics fit my 6’ 1” frame a bit better than the Honda Africa Twin. An example of the incremental difference is I A new name; a reduction in capacity from 1195cc to 1050cc; and a completely revised suspension set up by led by none other than KTM development rider and complete motorcycle badass, Quinn Cody, made this 1090 Adventure R an all new beast aimed squarely at the Africa Twin. The WP cone-valve fork features precision parts and cone-valve damping technology with serious dirt-worthy damping performance. The suspension has 30mm more travel than the 890 R’s. KTM 890 ADVENTURE R: $14,199 KTM’S 890 Adventure R has an off-road persona and churns out a serious horsepower gain over last year’s 790. Ithas a 6-speed Twin front Brembo brakes (320 mm) and a single rear disc provide impressive stopping power with good feel. KTM has decided to fit special spoke wheels to the 1190 which run tubeless tyres. This is to give the wheel more flex in off-road conditions and more control to the rider. A pressure monitoring system is also standard fitment.
